Description
Directs production activities for Prep, Filling and Packing lines to ensure daily schedule adherence, KPIs are achieved or exceeded and that the team is in full compliance with employee safety and
Food Safety /Quality standards.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
Assures that products meet or exceed Food Safety and Quality specifications at every Departmental process step
Promotes a safety work culture by reinforcing all safety policies and practices
Communicates as appropriate to assure Operational Effectiveness
Assures incoming team members are trained in techniques, processes, policies, etc.
Maintains work areas aligned with lean (5-S) principles
Performs other duties as assigned
Background Requirements
High school or GED is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a food production facility is required. Previous lead or supervisory experience is required. A commensurate amount of education and experience may substitute. Must be able to work independently while applying safety, GMP and quality principles. Must understand HR policies and procedures and ensure the team act in adherence to these. Must have the ability to develop in-depth technical and mechanical knowledge of machinery, equipment and line operations. Critical thinking skills are required, as daily challenges in operational efficiency and production scheduling occur – must have strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and make adjustments that drive efficiency. Must be comfortable with computers to effectively capture relevant data, critical operational notes, etc. in systems. Must be able to communicate effectively to provide instruction and direction, to explain how things work, the importance of procedures and to create cultural alignment. Bilingual ability in Spanish and English is required. Must have great attention to detail, be reliable and proactive. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
