THE POSITION

PennDOT is currently looking for a Highway Maintenance Coordinator to join their team. This role involves assisting the County Maintenance Manager and overseeing maintenance operations in a designated area of the Crawford County Maintenance Organization. Don't miss out on this opportunity!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your main role will be to determine the maintenance functions that need to be carried out in a designated region of the county maintenance organization by evaluating the state of the highways, negotiating for available workforce and equipment, and identifying crucial needs for the area. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing how well subordinate foremen are executing planned activities and intervening as necessary to ensure that objectives are met. You will receive supervision from the County Manager and will have a considerable amount of flexibility in planning and executing work programs. The success of your work will be measured against the achievement of highway maintenance program objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours will vary seasonally and are based upon operational needs.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Highway Foreman 2; or
  • Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
