Packagers play a crucial role in preparing products for distribution or sale by carefully packaging them according to specifications. They ensure that products are properly protected, labeled, and ready for shipment to customers or retailers.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive products from production lines or storage areas and prepare them for packaging. Inspect items for quality, sort them according to specifications, and ensure they are clean and undamaged.

Gather and organize packaging materials such as boxes, bags, labels, and padding needed for the specific products being packaged. Ensure that all packaging materials meet quality standards and are suitable for the intended use.

Carefully place products into their designated packaging containers, ensuring they are arranged neatly and securely. Use appropriate methods such as sealing, wrapping, or boxing to package items according to established guidelines.

Conduct visual inspections of packaged products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Check for defects, proper labeling, and packaging integrity to prevent damaged or subpar products from being shipped.

Verify that the correct quantity of products is packaged according to the order specifications or production requirements. Use counting devices or scales to ensure accuracy and prevent overages or shortages.

Seal packaging containers using appropriate methods such as tape, heat sealing, or shrink wrapping. Apply labels, barcodes, or other identification markings as needed for tracking and inventory purposes.

Maintain accurate records of packaged products, including quantities, batch numbers, and any relevant production information. Enter data into computerized systems, complete paperwork, or generate reports as required.

Keep packaging areas clean and organized to ensure efficiency and safety. Dispose of packaging waste properly and follow sanitation protocols to maintain hygiene standards.

Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines when handling products, packaging materials, and operating packaging equipment. Follow proper procedures to prevent accidents or injuries and report any safety hazards to supervisors.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, production staff, and other team members to meet packaging goals and deadlines. Communicate effectively and assist team members as needed to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing preferred but not required.

Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.

Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Basic math skills for counting and measuring.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.87 - $23.11 per hour
