Movement is Hiring a Fitness Specialist Near Tucson, AZ

Projected Start Date: June 2024

Available Shift Hours:

Monday – Friday: 11 am -3 pm and/or 3pm-7 pm

Supervision / Report To:

The Fitness Specialist reports directly to the Assistant Manager of the fitness center.

Position Overview:

Movement Company is seeking a motivated and dedicated Fitness Specialist to join our team. As a Fitness Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients in their fitness journey, providing expert guidance, and fostering a positive and supportive fitness environment. Your passion for health and wellness, coupled with your strong interpersonal skills, will enable you to empower individuals to

achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures excellent hospitality experience for members and guests.
  • Maintains standards and policies set by the club, Movement Company, and client partners.
  • Assist in developing a standard fitness operational manual, including written policies and procedures for onsite fitness services to improve the department procedures and program.
  • Develop a member orientation and lead development systems for personal training.
  • Conducts one-on-one and group fitness sessions, tailoring workouts to clients’ needs/goals.
  • Perform fitness assessments and use the results to develop personalized fitness plans.
  • Instruct and guide clients on proper exercise techniques, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
  • Motivates and encourages members to stay committed to their fitness routines.
  • Assists in organizing and leading club programs, fitness challenges, and workshops.
  • Helps manage the front desk and works with the reception team to grow memberships.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to provide up-to-date fitness advice.
  • Help create social media marketing posts within the guidelines of Movement Company and partnering client liaison standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing clients’ inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized fitness environment, including equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in fitness center promotional events and campaigns.
  • Coordinates fitness and recreational programs.
  • Report and document any incident or accident to the manager.
  • Attends all team training and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong team player
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (preferred).
  • Nationally recognized fitness certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM)
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering effective fitness programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various fitness levels and customize workout plans.
  • Understanding of membership and personal training sales.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Miscellaneous / ETC:

  • Proficient in computer skills and office equipment.
  • Normal work and operational hours: 11 am – 7 pm Monday – Friday.
  • May vary to include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Group fitness certifications are highly preferred.
