Description

The Sales Representative is responsible for selling fuel and related products to prospective buyers (e.g., companies, farms, contractors, etc.), gaining new customers, and establishing/meeting sales targets. This role is responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales, customer growth, and increased profit while focusing on Warrenton Oil Companys competitive and innovative advantage in a developing market.

Job Knowledge and Responsibilities

  • Execution of fuel and related product sales to prospective buyers with a focus on gaining new customers.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets, customer growth, and increased profit.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them, understanding their needs, and developing the right relationships at the right times based on market trends.
  • Execute a common goal of growth, focused on the big picture.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Create a written sales report weekly and provide to the Director of Transportation electronically.
  • Make blind sales calls weekly to prospective clients and businesses (minimum of ten blind calls weekly).
  • Communicates with Transportation Director and department weekly with updates on prospective customers, feedback from customers, etc. Assists with negotiation of freight rates and other customer-related issues.
  • Sets monthly contact list with existing and new customers, reports findings/status to Transportation Director.
  • Recommends sales strategies and executes sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Works with accounting department, follows up on any customer issues (past due accounts, etc.).
  • Observe safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Set, communicate, and execute sales strategy, including how Warrenton Oil differs from competitors.
  • Ability to complete minor mechanical tasks in the field, such as setting a gas tank, operating a forklift, etc.

Qualifications


  • Valid drivers license and insurance are required.
  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university, three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
