Overview :
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities :
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines
- Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist individuals with mobility
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to ensure individual needs are met
Qualifications :
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus
- Ability to provide direct support and care in a compassionate manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Note : Prior experience in nursing homes, childcare, or assisted living facilities can be transferable skills for this position.

We utilize a 6-week rotation schedule for full time employees :
- Week 1 : Monday and Tuesday off
- Week 2 : Tuesday and Wednesday off
- Week 3 : Wednesday and Thursday off
- Week 4 : Thursday and Friday off
- Week 5 : Friday, Saturday and Sunday off
- Week 6 : Saturday, Sunday and Monday off
All staff are required to work 4 hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas (to be paid for 8) and working any major holiday is compensated with a holiday bonus.
90 Day Program : A Shining Light, Inc offers a $500 bonus after 90-day completion.
