Summary/ObjectiveThe sanitation worker maintains production areas, warehouses, and grounds by providing custodial services related to food safety and hygiene. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits.

• Comply with Mill Haven Foods SOP's and GMP's.
• Responsible for thorough follow through of cleaning assignments, to include but not limited to; forklift charging areas, outside perimeter, shipping/receiving warehouses, and cleaning the forklifts. Sweeping, vacuuming, and operating the floor scrubber.
• Oversee successful completion of daily and weekly cleaning tasks at all applicable MHF facilities.
• Ensure that all applicable processes and procedures are followed while reporting any abnormalities to the Maintenance Manager for further review and correction.
• Maintain plant accessibility and appearance by picking up trash and transporting to disposal area.
• Maintain cleaning inventory by checking stock level and anticipating cleaning equipment replacement.
• Communicate with maintenance manager on a daily basis.
• Prepare for and participate in all audits and inspections.
• Maintain a safe and clean working space at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sustained GMP expectations of the Sanitation Department. However, all reporting relationships will be directly overseen by the Maintenance Manager.
Work EnvironmentPerforming the duties of this job include contact with dry dairy products, frequent exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and some outdoor exposure. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to go up/down stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves standing, bending, and lifting 55 pounds.

Education And ExperienceRequired: High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: two-three years of sanitation experience.
