Job Description:
The person in this position works together with the Principal Investigator to design and carry out research experiments related to the molecular and cellular basis of cancer health disparity and links to metabolic diseases (diabetes and brain degenerative disorders). Specifically we study several novel pathways involving the role of scaffold proteins in nuclear-cytoplasm crosstalk and ER-stress. Perform experiments, analyze data, prepare manuscripts for publication, train and manage laboratory personnel and students, and manage all aspects of the research laboratory. We employ a multifaceted approach, including super-resolution microscopy, color IHC and kinemics. We use cell culture, mouse models and human tissues. Other projects in the lab include drug discovery both targeted and unbiased screens. We collaborate widely with experts in the field.
