2. | Reports to the high school principal and superintendent on all issues, including interviewing and selecting coaches for all SCHS athletic teams. |
3. | Manages the budget for coaching supplements. |
4. | Reports all required information to the GHSA. |
5. | Attend regional meetings to discuss and plan for all sports with all regional schools. |
6. | Serves on an advisory committee for the GHSA, which affects schools. |
7. | Allocates operating funds to all athletic programs. |
8. | Organizes and manages the yearly raffle that supports all programs. |
9. | Recruits private businesses to support athletics through monetary donations. |
10. | Meets with all athletic coaches to discuss school and system rules that affect athletics. |
11. | Ensure that all coaches comply with required GHSA rules for clinic attendance. |
12. | Ensure that all lay coaches have had the required training. |
13. | Ensure that SCSS self-reports anytime there is an infraction of GHSA rules. |
14. | Checks on all athletes to ensure that they are academically eligible to participate. |
15. | Promotes SCHS athletes to colleges for potential scholarships. |
16. | Authorizes and verifies to GHSA any person eligible to hold a GHSA Coaches Card and representative at any athletic event. |
17. | Serves as the primary game manager for all home athletic events |
18. | Hires, trains, and evaluates coaches for all levels. |
19. | Orders, maintains, and requisitions repairs for athletic equipment. |
20. | Ensure that all athletic equipment meets industry and GHSA standards for safety. |
21. | Requisitions officials to work games. |
22. | Communicates with the booster committee to keep them informed. |
23. | Oversees the care and preparation of the stadium, all athletic fields, and maintenance. |
24. | Oversees the care and maintenance of the weight rooms. |
25. | Makes rules regarding the code of conduct for players and coaches. |
26. | Sets the schedule of athletic seasons with the guidance of GHSA. |
27. | Conducts meetings with parents if there is any issue that needs a resolution. |
28. | Schedules transportation to and from the games. |
29. | Schedules pre-game meals for the team. |
30. | Creates and leads an advisor committee that oversees athletic funds |
31. | Fosters good school and community relations |
32. | Ensure all players have a current physical on file. |
33. | Ensures that all players are academically eligible to participate. |
34. | Oversees all areas of the athletics program, those enumerated here or otherwise. |
35. | Works well with administrators, teachers, and staff to oversee and facilitate all athletic teams and events. |
36. | Oversees all athletic programs 6th-12th. |
37. | Annually evaluates programs and sets goals with coaches. |
38. | All other duties as assigned. |
