Overview

Under supervision from the Director of Golf, provides technical and managerial supervision of facilities and staff as outlined.

To assist in the promotion of golfing activities by organizing daily play, leagues and tournaments.

Experience Required

Competencies :

  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general trade and business periodicals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or needs of staff members and guests. Maintains office, employee and company confidentiality at all times.
  • Dependable and meets goals.
  • Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree, college or university program certificate, or 2-4 years of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of years and experience preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements :

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Evenings, weekends, and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Golf, supervises golf shop attendants, outside services staff and helps direct the daily operations of the pro shop.
  • Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
  • Serves in the capacity of a shift supervisor.
  • Lessons could be assigned by the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional or Assistant Teaching Professional, to include group lessons and junior lessons.
  • Will oversee and / or collect fees, and any other like duties that will assist in efficiently operating the pro shop.
  • Will act as the on-site supervisor when the Director of Golf is not on duty.
  • Responsible for completing any daily reports that are required during assigned shift.
  • While serving as a shift supervisor, will be responsible for cash drawer and bank deposits.
  • Prepares work schedule and assignments for golf operations personnel.
  • Assists in sales of retail merchandise and equipment rental.
  • Assists all tournament and group leaders in the organization of the individual events to help make their event a success.
  • Issues written and verbal instructions, assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, neatness and conformance to policy and procedures.
  • Promotes and trains personnel in positive customer service relations.
  • Promotes and maintains harmony among co-workers and maintenance staff.
  • Performs and assists subordinates in performing duties, corrects errors and handles complaints.
  • Initiates and implements safety regulations and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
