Centric Infrastructure Group is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist Near The Woodlands, TX

We are seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to join our growing team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of billing operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a telecommunications background along with a strong proficiency in data management and Excel.

This role will start out as an individual contributor, however, as our team grows this position could lead to the creation of an Accounts Receivable department. This role will report to the Controller and sit within the Accounting department but work as a liaison between the Customer Acquisition, Customer Experience, Accounting and Fiber Operations teams. A general understanding of accounting principles, curious and proactive nature, and a talent for inferencing stories from data will ensure a candidate to be successful within this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and analyze billing data to identify discrepancies, errors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversees the billing process, including timeliness of billing, collections, and systems management.
  • Develop and implement billing procedures and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Customer Experience, and Fiber Operations, to address billing issues and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of telecommunications products, services, and pricing structures.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure billing practices comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports on billing performance, trends, and key metrics to management.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities and reconciliation of billing accounts.
  • Reviews and approves customer adjustments.
  • Reviews and approves batches for general ledger integration to accounting.
  • Act as a liaison between the Fiber Accounts Receivable department and other departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Researches and resolves inquiries involving billing discrepancies, account status, adjustments, etc.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices, systems, and processes.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for all escalated billing calls or issues.
  • Manages and resolves customer complaints and inquiries regarding billing.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of solid billing and accounting experience.
  • Experience with a variety of invoicing and billing concepts, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Aria software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Telecommunications industry experience.
  • College-level coursework in Accounting.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • This job requires employees to sit for extended periods of time, lift objects up to 30lbs, grasp, carry, walk, speak, and listen.
  • Work is performed mostly in a controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
