Hours of Performance:

The performance hours of the MTF are as follows: In general, all Dental Clinics are open between the hours of 0600-1700, Monday-Friday. Routine Clinic hours may vary by location. The services provided under this contract shall be on a 40-hour per week basis.

Responsibilities:

• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). The EFDA initiative are specially trained dental assistants (Department of the Army Civilians (DAC)) who provide placement of restorations after dentists have prepared the tooth and simple teeth cleaning to patients with no periodontal (gum) disease. These dental assistants work with a dentist and other dental assistants and make it possible for the dental treatment team to provide more dental care.
• The dental assistants shall perform essentially the same duties as those required of any military or government civil service dental assistant of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.
• Services will be confined to chair side dental assisting, Radiology, or sterilization.
• They may be occasionally needed for patient scheduling or records review but may not work routinely as a medical clerk or receptionist.
