We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metallurgist to join our dynamic team. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing processes, with a specific focus on Aluminum. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dedicated team that drives our company's success. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of projects, applying their expertise in metallurgy to optimize production processes, improve product quality, and contribute to the company's growth and success.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Metallurgist, your primary responsibilities will include
- Conducting comprehensive analysis and testing of aluminum materials to ensure they meet the necessary quality standards.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve the production process, including reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
- Collaborating with the production team to understand their needs and challenges, and providing solutions based on your expertise in metallurgy.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the team on matters relating to material selection, process improvement, and problem-solving.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in metallurgy and incorporating this knowledge into your work.
- Conducting failure analysis investigations and providing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborating with the research and development team to create new products and improve existing ones.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, Mechanical Engineer or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. will be considered an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Metallurgist in the manufacturing industry, with a specific focus on Aluminum.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical testing methods and procedures.
- Proficiency in using metallurgical lab equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable way.
- The ability to work well in a team, as well as independently.
- A commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using computer software and applications related to metallurgy.
