Summary:
Prepare invoices and required documentation for shipments. Package, label, post weights, and shipping charges and determine methods of shipment. Verify incoming shipments by comparing identifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Receive goods and ensure they reach the appropriate location and are tracked in inventory.
Responsibilities:
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Knows and follows all customer shipping guidelines
Identifies and moves product
Inserts items into proper packaging.
Identify and move product through company software system
Some manual record keeping required
Self-checks all work before final shipment is made.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting where hazardous materials may be present. Security investigations may be conducted to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or work areas.
