Kratos Defense Security Solutions is Hiring an Engineering Intern Near Tehachapi, CA
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manages effort and time within the budget and schedule provided for the task.
- Entry level 3D modeling utilizing SolidWorks or CATIA
- Prepares draft engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, specifications, parts lists, interface control documents, test procedures, etc.).
- Prepares and updates Redlined documentation such as Manufacturing Parts Travelers (MPT), Manufacturing Tooling Traveler (MTT) and Engineering drawings.
- Organizes engineering data produced by the Engineering Department.
- Prepares and submit Engineering Memos (EMO) for Purchase Requests from the department.
- Makes copies, collates, binds and staples documents and reports, organize and maintain appropriate filing system.
- Supports and maintains schedules for Internal Department use.
- Assists with assigned projects as required.
- Makes arrangements necessary for onsite meetings, including meetings with vendors as needed.
- Interfaces with others within department.
- Interfaces with Planning, Accounting, Programs, and other departments as needed.
- Will interface with vendors regarding meeting arrangements.
- Must accurately charge time spent on jobs.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Salary: $20.00 per hour

- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Basic understanding and application of technical documentation and engineering processes and practices.
- Ability to generate compliant documentation.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required:
- In process of obtaining a BS or MS degree in Engineering.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Office and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with Kratos General Safety Training guidelines.
