Space International is Hiring a Data Scientist Near Tbilisi, GA

Main responsibilities:

  • End to end design and delivery of machine learning models across different fields (credit scoring, antifraud scoring, income estimation, risk-based pricing, soft collection scoring, anomaly detection, data segmentation, etc.) through all phases of development: from design to training, evaluation, validation, and deployment. Ensure the designed machine learning model brings business value.
  • Closely partner with credit risk portfolio manager, soft collection manager and antifraud manager to improve current retail loan products (Cash Loan, POS, Car Loan) through ML solutions.
  • Process and analyze large and complex datasets from various sources to get new insights and features: loan book, credit history report, tax report, debit card transaction reports, mobile payments, etc.
  • Interpret and communicate complex ML solutions and results in clear and comprehensive way to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.

Main requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience with at least 1 deployed classification model.
  • Excellent Python skills: pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, OOP, Flask or FastAPI.
  • Strong proficiency in traditional ML for classification tasks: XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM, Random Forest, Logistic Regression.
  • Strong SQL skills: joins, sub queries.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex solutions in English or in Russian.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Experience working in retail bank’s credit risk department and development of credit scoring models would be an advantage.
  • Experience in time-series modeling and A/B testing would be an advantage.
  • Experience with Airflow would be an advantage.

  • Comfortable with a “hands-on” approach and balancing multiple, competing priorities and changes in scope/direction, all with a high sense of urgency and positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change very quickly with minimal supervision
