Peraton is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team of qualified, and diverse individuals.

This position is located On-Site in Tallahassee, Florida. 

FDACS, Division of Food, Nutrition, and Wellness (FNW), is seeking a Business Analyst to provide business analysis related tasks for business processes performed by FNW or that are expected to result from new business needs and/or legislative changes.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
• Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
• Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
• Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
• Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
• Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
• Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
• Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
• May make recommendations for buy vs. build decisions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 9 years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Agile Software Development
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Requirements Gathering
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with client stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Minimum 5 years of experience in translating functional specifications into technical specifications from which programmers can construct the solution
• Minimum 5 years of experience in translating information from meetings and written materials into process models and/or process flow models
• Minimum 5 years of experience in creating technical documentation and standard operating procedures
