Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join Lyncourt School. The School Nurse plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to students, promoting health education, and ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This position will follow the school calendar with holidays, snow days, and school breaks off. There is an opportunity to make additional money working during the summer program.

Duties:

- Provide direct healthcare services to students including first aid, medication administration, and emergency care
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify health issues
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to promote student wellness
- Educate students on health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed

Skills:

- Proficient in basic life support techniques
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat common health conditions in children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
- Experience in pediatric care or related fields is preferred
- Familiarity with pain management strategies for children
