Position Information:
The Trades Generalist (Painter) is responsible for performing a range of duties, including journey-level painting and skilled and semi-skilled tasks in various trade areas to ensure the proper repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. In addition to applying paint, varnish, stains, enamel, or lacquer to interior and exterior surfaces, and fixtures, the role involves the preparation of surfaces using a variety of tools, as well as filling holes and cracks with appropriate materials. Additionally, this position may entail the setup of scaffolding, swing stages, or ladders as needed for various projects. The regular work hours for this role are from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday.

Hourly Rate:
The hourly rate for this position is $22.76/hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
This Trades Generalist position is temporary and is paid an hourly rate. Appointment may be made to candidates who meet the minimum qualifications. This position is not tenure-bearing.
Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey level worker which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
