The Sutton School, serving children in K-grade 8, seeks a 1.0 FTE first grade teacher to join our school community. The candidate selected will be an elementary teacher who is passionate about working with all students in core content areas in the classroom and integrating outdoor learning and play into instruction. The candidate will have experience with outdoor education, or a willingness to learn about and help continue to build a learning community with an invigorating outdoor component. The candidate will be part of a K-2nd grade teaching team including other teachers, special educators and interventionists.
The teams PLC co-planning time is dedicated to rigorous core instruction as outlined in the Sutton School's Continuous Improvement Plan. Expertise in co-planning, integrating project-based learning, transferable skills with research-based reading, writing and mathematics instruction is a requirement. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.

We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME.
