The Academy Soccer Coach is responsible for cultivating the love of soccer and providing an environment that embodies the Rush core values, philosophy and development (both development of coaches and players). The Coach is responsible for providing continuity for the overall soccer experience for players, coaches and parents that is consistent with the club mission and values.
Flatirons Rush operates in accordance with the “Rush Way” and strives to provide youth athletes with a positive soccer experience, which incorporates the teaching of proper skill development, team participation, respect and fun. Coaches are expected to help build good character by helping each player gain self-confidence, team good sportsmanship and to respect all those who participate in any soccer environment.
The Academy Soccer Coach will be a part time, contract position:
· Models and actively promotes the “Rush Way” through coaching, communication and team interactions.
· Exemplifies the Rush Core Values. Every player feels valued irrespective of the playing level they may possess.
· Season player evaluations for development, encourage problem solving in real-time during practice and games. Encourage players to work towards understanding the issue without providing the solution.
· Respectful communication towards other coaches, referees, players at all times. Is approachable and takes feedback from others in a positive and constructive manner.
· Adhere to curriculum, game / tournament expectations and the 24 hour communication policy on all forms of communication (especially when dealing with issues that may arise from time to time)
· Support internal movement of player levels where they will be appropriately challenged.
