Position / Title: Data Coach Bargaining Unit: NON-UNION Department/Location: Assessment & Accountability & MTSS Department Work Days: 184 Reports To: Building Principal JD Revision Date: 07/27/2023 Supervises: N/A
Function / Position SummaryResponsible for providing support in the use of data to improve student learning and close the excellence gap between students of diverse populations.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide support to building level intervention planning, implementation and monitoring.
  • Provide technical /instructional support to building level assessment implementation and data use.
  • Provide technical support to building level data warehouse use (My Data Zone).
  • Provide analytical support to building level student programming decisions to identify diverse student populations placements that correlate with standardized tests.
  • Provide technical support to building level behavioral and academic progress monitoring data use.
  • Assist school improvement team and MTSS school based system teams with data retrieval and interpretation.
  • Facilitate monthly building based MTSS Data Team meetings.
  • Provide support to building based MTSS Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 team meetings. Examples of support include, but are not limited to, attending training and communicating expectations for MTSS, attending all building MTSS meetings, data retrieval, running reports, and aggregating/disaggregating various data.
  • Attend any special Assessment training such as but not limited to Microsoft, Google, Tableau, Infinite Campus, and My Data Zone.
  • Work collaboratively with building instructional leadership to organize, disseminate and manage school-wide and classroom-level standards-based proportionality data.
  • Provide effective communication with administrators, principals, teachers and parents, both orally and in writing.
  • Support and collaborate with the building administration and SIP team in the coordination of assessments, and work as a liaison between the Assessment Department and building instructional leader for local and state assessments.
Education
  • Certified Teacher with 3 years of teaching experience in environments with verifiably strong evidence of opportunity, access, and support success with students of cultural and linguistic diverse backgrounds.
  • Work experience within U-46
  • Previous experience teaching, coaching, and providing professional development for adult educators
  • Strong knowledge of analytical software, including spreadsheets.
  • Strong computer skills and interest in new technologies.
  • Familiarity with all local and state assessments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to act as a teacher leader, using data to develop and implement interventions at the classroom and building level.

Experience / Knowledge
  • Ability to provide professional development and coach teachers and other building staff.
  • Ability to create data presentations and share with building staff: including but not limited to SIP and grade level teams.
  • Time available throughout the year to coach and support teachers in instructional/operational applications and hardware.
  • Ability to simplify and present ideas to an audience of varying skill levels.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with all local and state assessments.
  • Willingness to act as a teacher leader, using data to develop and implement interventions at the classroom and building level.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with principal, colleagues, building staff and district staff.
  • High interest in learning to understand student proportionality data analysis, and its use in identifying areas of inequities (like opportunity, access or support) that need to be addressed.
  • Motivated to learn to disaggregate, interpret, and analyze assessment data.
  • Considerable knowledge of Board policies and district/county/state procedures and standards regarding K-12 education.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to meet the demands of additional teaching and coaching
  • Must be able to work in front of a computer monitor for multiple hours at a time
Terms of Employment
