Position Title : Saw Cutter

Essential Functions :

We seek a Saw Cutter to join our growing team.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for operation and maintenance of large walk behind saw
• Maintain saws, equipment, and tooling.
• Utilize daily job brief and set up jobs accordingly with proper safety measures.
• Assist Crew Leader in physical labor at underground utility construction / reconstruction and maintenance work.
• Collaborate with supervisor and foreman to schedule work and safely perform saw cutting.
• Perform daily inspection paperwork daily and notify supervision of any issues.
• Adhere to all DOT Safety Regulations / Requirements
• Train others in safe efficient operation of equipment
• Complete misc. duties as assigned.

Success Factors :

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education :

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Experience working with underground utilities desire
• CDL A is a plus
• Minimum two years of experience core drilling, concrete sawing, cutting and / or removal experience
• Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and have a good driving history
• Ability to work days / nights / weekends or out of town if necessary
• Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations
• Proficiency in any or all of the following diamond or demolition tools : wall saw, core drill, flat saw, handsaws, ring saws and / or compressor tools

Additional Requirements / Licenses / Certifications :

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
