Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse facility. This includes managing a team of warehouse associates, ensuring efficient workflow, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment. Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Schedule and assign tasks to warehouse staff to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to company policies.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storing, and tracking products.
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.
Operational Efficiency:
Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures.
Monitor and optimize the use of warehouse space.
Continuously improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality control standards for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Perform regular inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and guidelines.
Conduct safety training for warehouse staff.
Comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA and company policies.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other warehouse activities.
Generate reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and any incidents.
Communicate regularly with management regarding warehouse operations.
Customer Service:
Coordinate with the customer service department to meet customer order requirements and deadlines.
Address customer inquiries and concerns related to warehouse operations.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, are properly maintained and serviced.
Arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in using warehouse management software and MS Office applications.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
Stamina to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
Comfortable working in various temperature conditions, including cold storage areas if applicable.
