Salary Information15.00 USD Hourly Onwards
Summary & Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist Teacher III and IV with the performance of educational and non-educational functions. Does related work as required, works with children and parents in the same manner as a Teacher III or IV under the guidance of the Education Coordinator.
  • Assists in the preparation of room and materials for classroom work
  • Maintains the room, equipment and materials
  • Assist with the serving of meals and nutrition supplements and involved in mealtime with the child.
  • Provides supervision and guidance and assists with clean-up as requested by immediate supervisor
  • Assume responsibility under the guidance of the Teacher III or IV in carrying out education program
  • Model positive work ethic for parents and staff.
  • Guides parents in classroom participation and observation
  • Greets children and parents on arrival and escorts children to and from bus
  • Works closely and directly under the guidance of the Teacher III of IV in performing tasks designated through joint planning with the Teacher III or IV
  • Involved in meal time with the child; provides supervision and guidelines and assists with clean up
  • Does related work as required with the agency in providing services to children and families
  • Other duties may be assigned
In Early Head Start, acts as Substitute for education staff during lunches, breaks, planning sessions, absences. Does related work as required by the agency in providing services to children and families.
QUALIFICATIONS Must have a high school diploma/GED. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Access to transportation and ability to visit sites throughout Erie County required. Erie County resident preferred
