Elmwood Group Homes for MRDD adults in Green Springs Ohio is currently Hiring for Full Time and Part Time Direct Support Professionals (RTS) on all shifts. $ 500 Sign on bonus offered! Hiring Full Time & Part Time on 1st shift, 2nd shift & 3rd shift. All positions work every other weekend and rotation of holidays. Perfect attendance incentive, pick up hours incentive, birthday pay and much more! Duties/Responsibilities of Direct Support Professionals (RTS) include:

  • Supervise and assist all group home residents in the implementation and further education of Individual Habilitation Plan goals through training and demonstration. Recommend changes or suggestions to goals to help the resident reach their highest potential and functioning level.
  • Oversee all daily living skills such as personal hygiene, showering, grooming, oral hygiene and feeding/eating as well as home maintenance skills and other areas included in the IHP.
  • Carry out scheduled activities and necessary appointments. Provide ongoing interaction and teach and maintain appropriate socialization skills. Provide behavior modification interventions in accordance with the behavior programs under the supervision of the QIDP and/or Psychologist.
  • Assure residents are well groomed, clean and presentable at all times. Supervise school/work preparation. Oversee the provision of lunches and snacks as ordered prior to leaving for the workshop or outings. See that all residents have adequate clothing that is marked, laundered and put away in the proper areas.
  • Inventory and clean all personal items and change linens weekly and as needed. Clean equipment according to need/schedule and any housekeeping tasks resulting from resident untidiness.
  • Prepare meals and perform cleaning tasks as needed. Provides residents health-related duties including taking vital signs, application of clean dressings that do not require health assessment, basic measurement of bodily intake and output, use of glucometers, external urinary catheter care, emptying colostomy bags, and collection of specimens by non-invasive means.
  • Supervise and assist in giving residents baths as needed. This includes hair care, nail care, shaving, dressing/undressing, showers or bathing, clothing care, and dental care. Strip and clean beds, including making beds with clean linen. Launder dirty clothes, towels and bedding, including sorting, washing, drying, folding and transporting to proper storage areas.
  • Assist with feeding and implementation of feeding goals as stated in IHPs. Follow all toileting schedules/programs as stated in the IHP. Know all emergency policies including fire safety training, and be certified in first aid and CPR within first 30 days of hire. Know side effects of resident's medications. Follow diets according to planned menus.
  • Make sure food items and hygiene items are stocked and ordered promptly. Clean sidewalks as needed. Make sure grocery lists and shopping is done 1 week in advance. Assure residents are taken on scheduled activities and appointments. Interact with residents and provide ongoing activities and programming. Follow activity schedule. Prepare meals and snacks. Perform any other duties as assigned.
