GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Maintenance Supervisor will manage, plan and coordinate activities associated with the physical, environmental and security conditions of the building facilities of Willow Care Nursing Home and Willow West Apartments; secure services to meet departmental needs for physical aspects of daily operations, maintenance, repairs, renovations and new construction.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Required: High school graduate or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred: Completion of a federally certified electrician or HVAC apprentice program.

Experience: Work generally requires the ability to organize and coordinate a variety of facility maintenance and management activities normally acquired through three years of direct related experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience will apply.

Skills: Demonstrated abilities in supervision, electrical maintenance, electrical repair, HVAC maintenance, HVAC repair, and plumbing repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, plan, coordinate and monitor physical, environmental and security conditions and general maintenance of the building facilities.
• Secure and coordinate related services with appropriate departments or outside organizations including, but not limited to, heating-ventilation-air conditioning, structural and cosmetic repairs, and maintenance of safety features; solicit proposals and/or bids from alternative service providers where appropriate and make recommendations for optimal selection.
• Determine priorities for the enhancement, repair and modification of building facilities and equipment; develop plans for enhancement as well as ongoing and preventive maintenance of facilities.
• Coordinate and supervise set-up and take-down of building areas, equipment and furniture for special events.
• Prepare and update plans for response to and recovery from emergency and disaster conditions as pertaining to facility; lead and participate in implementation of emergency plans in appropriate situations.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
