Camp Marshall is an ACA accredited residential summer camp in Spencer, MA. We provide a safe and fun environment for youth aged 6-16, with hands-on, outdoor and educational experiences that foster respect, independence, and positive self-esteem.

Our summer camp program runs June through August. It includes 8 weeks of our traditional and equestrian day and overnight camps, and 2 weeks of training prior to the start of camp. Traditional programs include waterfront activities, boating, fishing, nature and trail walks, arts & crafts, sports & games, agriculture, shooting sports, challenge, and more!

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Summer Camp Director to oversee the operations of our recreational and educational summer camp program. The Summer Camp Director will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for campers, as well as managing the day-to-day activities of the camp.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and support camp staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance

- Create and maintain a safe and inclusive camp environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations

- Collaborate with parents to address individual camper needs and provide regular updates on camp activities when necessary

- Work with program staff to coordinate camp schedules, including daily activities, field trips, and special events

- Manage camp budget and resources effectively to ensure optimal program delivery

- Foster positive relationships with campers, families, and community partners to enhance the camp experience

Experience:

- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred

- Experience in camp management is preferred

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

ACA minimum standards recommend onsite directors have at least two prior seasons of administrative experience in organized camp, have completed in-service training each year, and be at least 25 years of age before assuming the responsibilities of director. Camp Marshall will provide ACA New Director's training on May 10, if no prior ACA training.

This is a paid seasonal position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. $750-$850/ week. This is a live-in position 6 days a week Sun-Fri for 8 weeks, with some flexible nights off. Housing and meals are included. Option for childcare to be included in compensation as well.
