Southport is Hiring a Summer Camp Counselor Near Southport, NC
The City of Southport is seeking individuals to be part of our 2024 Summer Camp Program as Summer Camp Counselors. As a Counselor, you will prepare, lead and actively participate in active/passive games, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and more. Camp Counselors are expected to be a role model and provide meaningful experiences for their campers. This position is seasonal and does not qualify for benefits.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Planning games and arts and crafts activities.Planning and supervising children on a variety of field trips to the movies, library, parks, playgrounds, water park and other destinations.Supervising children daily to apply appropriate behavior management techniques.Helping to set up scheduled activities with general facility maintenance.Enforcing rules, camp policies, and maintaining order.Ensuring that all children are kept in a safe and enjoyable environment.Providing information to participants and parents regarding upcoming events and programs.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMust be a High School graduate.Experience working with children elementary school age.Requires valid NC driver’s license. CDL preferred.Must pass background and drug screening.
