We are seeking a Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant for our progressive specialty practice in orthodontics.

The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Responsibilities may include:

• assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• taking dental radiographs (x-rays)
• asking about the patient's medical history
• serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental or orthodontic treatment
• providing patients with instructions for oral care following treatment procedures
• teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• taking impressions and scans of patients' teeth
• performing office management tasks
• communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)

The right candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent verbal and written skills, be people oriented, have the desire to grow with our company, and be comfortable interacting with pediatric and adult patients. A radiating, positive attitude is a must.

REQUIRED; Travel to our other office locations on occasion in South Pasadena, CA/ Sierra Madre, CA and/or Claremont, CA (few times a month).

You would also be on rotation to be on call for a month (bonus included).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
