Sierra Veterinary Care is Hiring a Veterinary Receptionist Near Sonora, CA

Sierra Veterinary Care, a family owned and operated veterinary clinic with strong ties to the local community, is seeking an experienced receptionist to provide SUPERIOR customer care to our clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Representing the practice with professionalism, courtesy and a positive attitude
  • Greeting clients, patients and other visitors
  • Answering and handling a multi-line telephone system
  • Promoting practice services and products
  • Scheduling appointments and preparing patient records
  • Ensuring all waiting areas are clean and organized at all times
  • Assisting in other areas of the hospital, as needed

  • Ability to speak in an articulate and professional manner with a pleasant telephone voice
  • Ability to apply basic math skills to count money, make change and manage inventory

  • Type minimum of 45 words per minute
  • Safely lift up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand for long periods of time

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with veterinary office software (i.e. DVMaxx, Cornerstone, etc.)
  • Understanding of small animal issues and common preventives and treatments
  • Operation of computer system and software in Apple Mac environment, including word-processing software, as well as extensive data entry experience
  • Use of veterinary medical terminology and veterinary retail products, such as prescription diets and parasite preventatives.
  • Use of fax machine, copier, credit card processor, cash register, printers and general office equipment
  • Minimum of a high school certificate required and/or GED (Associate Degree preferred)
