Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a transit vehicle over a variable route; maintain order on the van; respond and provide assistance to passengers in a courteous and helpful manner; assist in loading and unloading of all passengers requiring any kind of assistance. This includes but is not limited to: persons that require assistance, securing wheelchairs, proper use of a wheelchair lift, and persons who may be mentally or physically challenged. This position requires excellent driving skills and the ability to operate different types of vehicles.

Responsibilities:
- Safely drive company vehicle and use sound judgment in handling unusual situations arising with passengers.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles.
- Communicate with dispatch to receive instructions and updates.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues to ensure safe mechanical operation of equipment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Provide exceptional customer service.

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Driver, preferably in a professional driving role.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspections and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil, fluid levels, etc.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading wheelchairs.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of route driving and efficient navigation techniques.

Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or fill-in as needed.
