The Learning Garden Childcare Center is a brand new daycare facility in Slingerlands, NY. We are seeking motivated individuals to help us meet our mission of providing quality child care in a safe and fun environment.

This job is for an ASSISTANT TEACHER. We have positions in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. The job has a fixed weekly schedule with a lunch break each day. We have full-time and part-time options available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide a safe and fun environment for the children at our center

- Assist with implementing curriculum and lesson plans for children in a daycare setting

- Work with lead teacher to ensure smooth daily operations in the classroom

- Monitor and supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times

- Play with, talk to, and read to children

- Assist with mealtimes and simple food prep

- Follow daily routines such as mealtime, nap time, and diaper changes/toileting

-Clean as needed

-Ensure that your classroom is in ratios per NYS OCFS regulations

REQUIREMENTS:- High School Diploma (or equivalent) OR one year of experience working with children under 13 years of age

- Be able to sit on the floor to play with children, talk with/to the children, and want to spend time with children

-Show up for scheduled shifts so the center can remain in compliance with NYS regulations

- Reliable Transportation

- Positive attitude

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team

- Friendly personality and willingness to interact with parents during pickup/drop off

- Two references, at least one must be an employment (supervisory) reference

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:- At least two years working in a childcare setting

Pay: $15.75 - $19.00 per hour, salary commensurate with education and experience

Expected hours: 37.5 – 45 per week
