RP Constructors, LLC is Hiring a Concrete Finisher Near Sioux, SD

Job Role:

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site and ensure surfaces are finished to look good and remain structurally sound. The duties and responsibilities are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also helping to develop the skills of others within the crew.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Handle and transport materials and equipment.
  • Use power tools and machinery when needed.
  • Clearing the worksites of any debris and equipment before and after work.
  • Set up and tear down of forms and footings, including slab on grade and wall
  • Mold expansion joints and edges.
  • Bend, form, tie and install rebar and use wire mesh to reinforce the concrete.
  • Construct concrete wall forms and set forms per elevations provided on engineering drawings.
  • Set up a transit on established points to shoot building lines.
  • Grade checks and prep work prior to concrete placement.
  • Apply waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.
  • Clean and inspect surfaces for pouring issues.
  • Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
  • Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed.
  • Operate walk behind trowel and ride on trowel.
  • Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.
  • Applying sealing and hardening components.
  • Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
  • Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
  • Operate skid loader, laser screed, and telehandler effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, and a team player.
  • Ability to complete job site layout from survey points.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Ability to assess the quality of materials.
  • Dependable and strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of experience working as a concrete laborer or finisher.
  • Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Have a valid driver license.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified.
  • ACI Certificate (Preferred)
