Financial Counselor
1 – Full-Time positionThe schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:00am-8:00pm, and Friday 12:00pm-5:00pmSuccessful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of:
- Two years of Medical office and/or insurance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of our willingness to learn the State Family Planning Program, Medicaid, and Marketplace insurance.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Advanced computer and data entry skills.
- Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
- Previous experience in marketing/community outreach.
- Strong communication skills.
- Provide enrollment assistance for uninsured adolescents and adult patients/residents of the service area to access subsidized, low cost, and free health insurance programs through the health insurance marketplace, State Family Planning Program and Medicaid.
- Provide structured patient education on health insurance coverage, engage in follow up conversations, and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of organizational outreach and enrollment initiatives.
- Distribute outreach materials to patients/residents of the service area, community members, and partner organizations and businesses to build health coverage option awareness.
- Attend community events to promote health coverage options and the outreach enrollment services available from SCHC.
- These functions are not all inclusive
SCHC participates in E-Verify.
Pre-employment drug screen, background check, and review of required immunizations including COVID vaccination are required. Exemptions may be granted for religious or medical accommodations.
