High School is Hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional Near Siloam Springs, AR

POSITION TITLE: Special Education Paraprofessional

FSLA: Non-exempt

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma
  • At least one (1) of the following:
    1. Two (2) years of college credit;
    2. An associate’s degree (or higher);
    3. Provide evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of technology and keyboarding to support student learning
  • Demonstrate patience, initiative, and willingness to learn

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 day contract with benefits according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assisting students in achieving academic success.
  • Working with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class.
  • Helping students by providing behavioral support.
  • Personal care responsibilities.
  • Helping students with social integration.
  • Consulting and collaborating with the Special Education and General Education teachers.
  • Support supervision of and monitor students throughout the school day
  • Provide clerical support for program and administration
  • Collect student data and share information with appropriate staff

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Present and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Work additional hours or overtime as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or administration.
