Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Support clients in developing social, communication, and daily living skills
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including clients, families, and team members
- Experience in data collection and analysis to track client progress
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent observation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and implement crisis intervention techniques when necessary
- Proficiency in collecting vital signs and medical documentation
