Job Summary:

The Information Technology Technician will install, configure, and support computers, software, and peripheral devices. The Information Technology Technician will also generate reports and ensure data integrity in systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure appropriate hardware and software according to specifications.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software, and computer equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
  • Manage reporting and tracking of all IT Assets.
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages, and place orders.
  • Provide support and convey resolutions to customer issues.
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
  • Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources.
  • Update customer data and produce activity reports.
  • Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
  • Remain current on advances in technology.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
  • Related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
