This position is for the 2023-2024 school year.

Perform advanced skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of district heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities;

perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.

Two years experience journey-level operation, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade. Some electrical and HVAC controls experience needed.

This position is 8 hours per day and 260 days per year. Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date. (Considered full time with benefits)

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

Licenses & Other Requirements :

• Journeyman Licensure Required, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
• Shall maintain a valid Kentucky drivers license.
• If a HVAC license is not held or current, commensurate experience required to obtain license within first 90 days of employment
• Shall not accept outside employment or activities which will prevent the fulfillment of regularly assigned duties and obligations or the working of overtime, as required.
• Shall not perform any duties related to an outside job during working hours, including but not limited to, the use and / or possession of not board owned telephones, or radios during working hours.

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE : It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks.

This position is considered a twelve month employee on the pay schedule.
