POSITION: Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
Effective Date: August 5, 2024

SUMMARY: The Transitional Kindergarten teacher will plan and implement a hybrid curriculum of preschool and kindergarten instruction; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong foundation for learning; establish a good relationship with parents and other staff members; provide a safe and caring environment
conducive to the development of early years.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Organizes and present daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices
• Utilizes district approved curriculums
• Develops lesson plans and instruction materials that provide age appropriate experiences and promote student engagement
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student
• Evaluates, analyzes, and uses student data to guide instruction
• Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
• Identifies student needs, makes appropriate referrals, and implements accommodation/interventions as outlined in Individualized Education Plans or MultiTiered Systems of Support
• Creates an environment conducive to learning
• Collaborates with support staff and or other staff members
• Plans for, coaches, and collaborates with classroom instructional assistant
• Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices
• Builds and maintains a relationship with parents and caregivers
• Demonstrates confidentiality and privacy
• Maintains satisfactory attendance
• Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and Employee Handbook
• Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives

Education: Valid Teaching License from the State of Indiana
