HighFive Dental Holdco LLC is Hiring a Medical Assistant (Part-Time) Near Sheffield, AL

Description

Oral and Facial Surgery of the Shoals in Sheffield is searching for an energetic and skilled part-time Medical Assistant to provide the best care to our patients in a friendly, caring environment. With the philosophy of, “the patient comes first” approach to all our procedures, we have earned the reputation of performing the highest standard of Oral Surgery in the most compassionate and attentive manner. 

 
This position is part-time will be scheduled to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

 
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the consult floor three days a week.
  • Acquire imaging for patients (X-rays and 3D CTs)
  • Record accurate medical histories for patients, including current medications and past/current diseases/illnesses.
  • Utilize practice management software effectively and efficiently.
  • Work in a team environment with other clinical and administrative staff, doctors, and nurses.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and patients in person and dental offices via phone, email, and fax.
  • Evaluates patient’s preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative status at intervals according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Employs strategies to promote a safe and healthy environment.
  • Performs office management tasks that often require the use of a computer.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

  • Certification/Licensure preferred, but not required. 
  • Knowledge of medical and dental coding preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or dental fields preferred.
  • Experience recording patient medical histories.
  • Extensive knowledge of medications and health conditions treated in Oral Surgery practice preferred. 
  • Experience operating X-Ray equipment and CT machines.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and desire to help others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
  • Must be detail oriented, punctual, and patient care focused.
