Metz Culinary Management is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Sewell, NJ

Job Summary:

Our company is looking for a Data Entry Bookkeeper to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines. Some of the responsibility includes daily invoices, banking, reconciliations, and office security. Some of the weekly responsibilities are payroll, billing and reporting. This position also has monthly responsibilities such as entering inventory, end of month functions, commodity books and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily:

  1. Enter invoices, sales information from cashier reports, and deposits for all schools.
  2. Compare cashier drawer reconciliation to POS at the end of each day.
  3. Make corrections to End of Day reconciliation, where necessary
  4. Complete bank deposit slip.
  5. Verify change money for the day.
  6. Maintain sufficient change to provide to cashiers when needed. 
  7. Maintain all receipts for petty cash reimbursement.
  8. Complete Petty Cash Report for reimbursement.
  9. Lock & unlock the office safe & hold the key.
  10. Maintain employee records, applications, etc. on file

Weekly:

  1. Verify all weekly paperwork.
  2. Prepare weekly billing statement.
  3. Modem weekly billing to NSFM.
  4. Maintain Weekly Binder.
  5. Enter payroll
  6. Modem payroll
  7. File payroll report

Monthly:

  1. Enter inventory in the NSFM Excel Spreadsheet
  2. Complete End of Month functions for accurate monthly accounting.
  3. Run all monthly reports
  4. Run monthly Financial Report
  5. Verify Year to Date bottom line
  6. Run tracking reports
  7. Modem Financial Report (after approval by FSD)
  8. Maintain Government/Commodity Books

Periodically

  1. Enter Special Events Paid into the computer
  2. Maintain Catering Due & Paid files
  3. Maintain absence tracking reports for each employee
  4. Visit all locations with any record keeping problems
  5. Maintain office supplies
  6. Attend pertinent trainings on occasion.
  7. All other duties assigned by the FSD, as necessary, in conjunction with accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, one year of accounting,
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and prepare clear and detailed reports.
  • Ability to develop and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Strong computer skills required, especially with excel and Word.
  • Data Entry Experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Position is performed in an indoor kitchen environment. While some of the day may be spent in an office environment, the incumbent will generally required to work in the kitchen to help out staff. Therefore, an ability to stand for extended periods; twist, bend, and move freely; and lift up to 30 pounds is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. She/he is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee frequently has hands in hot soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
