Innovative Dental Solutions of Seminole is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Seminole, FL

Hello! We are a private dental office looking to hire an experienced expanded functions dental assistant (EFDA). Our team currently consists of 1 dentist, 2 dental assistants, 1 hygienist, 1 office manager, 1 front desk personnel and a therapy dog. Must be okay working in an office with 2 dogs present. As a prosthodontic office, our patients are mostly of adult and geriatric age. Procedures offered range from restorative to surgical, with more emphasis placed on the restorative aspect. Procedures you can expect to assist with will include:

  • Full mouth rehabilitation (teeth and/or implants)
  • Implant placement and restoration
  • Surgery (extractions, crown lengthening, alveoloplasty and/or bone grafting)
  • Digital Dentures (Avadent)
  • Implant Dentures (both fixed and removable)
  • Crown & bridge prep and fillings

It is imperative that you are able to and feel comfortable fabricating provisional prostheses for both the anterior and posterior teeth, whether short or long span. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, proper occlusion is also important. The right person would likely be someone possessing the following qualities:

  • Able to anticipate and deliver what the dentist needs before being asked during procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good work ethic
  • Constantly looking for a better or more efficient way to do things
  • Enjoys a fast paced environment
  • Able to keep the doctor on schedule by directing her to different patients efficiently depending on the procedures being performed
  • Able to elegantly get patients to minimize talking, allowing the doctor to finish procedures on time
  • Experience preparing lab scripts for complex cases
  • Pleasant to be around / Friendly
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Dependable
  • Trustworthy
  • Excellent bedside manner
  • Able to accept constructive criticism in a positive manner for the purpose of self-improvement
  • Able to learn and utilize current and new dental technologies

The position is for full time employment, four days per week (M, T, Th, F), although the opportunity exists if you are interested in working half days Wednesday. The pay range for this position is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Certification as an EFDA
  • 3 years of dental assisting
  • Current BLS training
  • Experience working for a Prosthodontist is a plus
  • Front desk experience and/or presentation of treatment plans a plus - if none possessed, be willing to learn
  • Experience with Dentrix Ascend is a plus, as is knowledge of medical terminology
