Toscana Cheese Company is Hiring a QA Technician Near Secaucus, NJ

Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for the daily execution of quality assurance tasks including physical testing, QA/QC checks, some microbiology, data entry and the control of non-conforming material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily audits of work in progress and finished product.
  • Testing and calibration used in fulfillment operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring, testing and the disposition of non-conforming material on the production floor.
  • Gives immediate feedback to department supervisors when defects are discovered.
  • Produces daily reports and other QA reports as directed by the QA Director.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams and work groups focused on process improvement.
  • Escalates critical issues that could impact quality to the QA Director.
  • Perform any other designated tasks assigned by the QA Director.
  • Have the ability to work alone or in a group.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time monitoring and testing product on the floor and in the lab.
  • Primary shift 11:00 am - 7:30 pm; Night Shift 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • Occasional weekend availability required

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma a must or equivalent work experience, higher education a plus
  • SQF and HACCP Certified a plus
  • At least 2 years of related experience in the food industry
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Bi-lingual a plus (English & Spanish)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact effectively with floor employees and all levels of management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
