Sound Transit is Hiring a Marketing Specialist Near Seattle, WA

Salary range is $55k to $130k, with a midpoint of $85k.New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under general direction, the Marketing Specialist supports digital content production for Sound Transit's marketing channels (social media, web and email). Participates in cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment between marketing priorities (rider recruitment and retention, reputation and brand awareness) and agency strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
  • Produces marketing content for multiple channels (social media, blog, web, marketing emails).
  • Serves as the social media content co-lead (intake process, write and produce content, schedule and publish posts).
  • Provides content production and publishing support for The Platform and LifeSTyle blogs.
  • Monitors Sound Transit social media channels in partnership with the Manager - Social Media/Marketing, and actively engages with incoming comments, questions and feedback.
  • Uses analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate marketing content performance.
  • Provides recommendations to adjust the social media/content marketing strategy for optimal results.
  • Stays up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media and content marketing
  • Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.
  • Contributes to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in alignment with Sound Transit's Equity & Inclusion Policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field and four years in marketingor communications; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Marketing principles and practices and their application to assigned area of responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of social media marketing principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of social media monitoring and reporting platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of blog platforms (WordPress, Squarespace, etc.).
  • Project coordination and management (how to take an idea and make it something tangible). Collaborating with subject matter experts to achieve a common goal.
  • Strong organizational skills (digital content calendaring and publishing).
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Passion and curiosity for the digital marketing space and digital culture.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a standard hybrid office and field environment.
  • Position is responsible for producing social media content; May be subject to standing, talking, walking, and carrying and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
