Under the direction of the Program Administrator and Executive Director, the Bus Driver will be responsible for transporting participants between the childcare site and field trip destinations. All staff members will be expected to exemplify the Vision and Mission of LASER.

Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class operates an activity bus with a GVWR over 26,000 pounds to transport participants to and from local attractions and field work as related to a day camp program. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Program Administrator and general supervision of the Executive Director. Work is reviewed for ability to follow directions and timely, accurate completion of assigned tasks. Positions in this classification are not exempt from overtime pay.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work in this position is light work (exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amounts of force constantly to move objects). Physical activities include balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, turning, reaching, standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions for the purpose of driving an activity bus. The employee must have the visual acuity to drive a vehicle and will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and contact with potentially infectious bodily fluids.
This position requires a part-time work schedule. Drivers will be expected to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (3 days/week) starting week of July 10th to the week of August 21, with additional days July 6th and August 29. Each work day is approximately 3-5 hours. Pay rate is $200/day regardless of length of work time, without exceeding 5 hours per day.
