Re-Hires Subject To Additional Review & RequirementsStatus: Full-TimePay: Starting at $24.00/hrThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a support personnel for the Intellectual Disabilities Program. This person in an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Team. The LPN provides nursing services, health care monitoring, and staff training.
Know How:
The position requires a valid LPN licensure and the ability to pass the ABON MAS test.
A minimum of one year nursing experience is preferred. This position requires the ability to work closely with other agency personnel and the medical community, knowledge of physical assessments, and knowledge of pharmacology, particularly psychotropic medication.
A valid Alabama driver’s license and vehicle insurance acceptance is required. It also requires counseling skills, (Microsoft Office), interpersonal skills, personnel and staff development skills, time-management skills, demonstrated leadership, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Principal Activities:
- Evaluate physical condition of individuals utilizing examinations of

- Provide nursing services to meet the healthcare needs of individuals as
- Insures services and medical records are in compliance with all
and accreditation standards.
- Provide input into the development of individualized support plans to
- Participate in special team meetings including lifestyle support
- Assist in scheduling medical appointments and monitoring
labs and/or referrals.
- Monitor health related services through observation, review of records,
providers.
- Provide follow-up care after illnesses, hospitalizations, outpatient
- Provide staff training on medical issues including medication
and physical handling.
- Provide Medication Assistance Certification training delegation, and
- Maintain current knowledge of physicians and health-related resources
- Assume/share 24 hour on-call emergency duty.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by RN.
