Summary Of PositionThe Program Manager is a full-time, on-site position responsible for leading and coordinating projects in support of Zero’s motorcycle and powertrain applications (b2b). By mastering Zero’s product development methodology, the PM will successfully guide projects through all phases, from initial concept through volume production. This vital role requires a dynamic, self-starting individual well-versed in project management practices, eager to tackle complex tasks, collaborate with a diverse group, and passionate about creating the future of transportation and industrial applications.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, implement, and manage development schedules for motorcycle and powertrain applications projects
  • Master Zero’s Product Development Processes and the systems used to track all corresponding activity, from part design and procurement, through system and vehicle level verification, to production validation and ramp-up
  • Identify and resolve potential risks to project cost, quality, or timing
  • Seamlessly interface with all functional groups: Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Production, Customer Service & Aftersales, Marketing, and Sales
  • Manage communications with external Powertrain customers (b2b) and strategic partners
  • Seek input and ensure all key stakeholders are kept apprised of critical information, including KPIs
  • Attend relevant meetings, take notes, record action items, and ensure follow-through
Required Education/Experience
  • 4-year relevant BS or BA degree minimum
  • 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • 4 years of project management experience, including resource planning and earned value management
  • Program Management training & certification (such as PMP) desired
  • Experience with series production and original equipment manufacturing of complex products for consumer purchase/consumption
  • Experience interfacing with cross-functional product development teams, including both hardware and software
  • Experience with full project lifecycle, including requirements, planning, reporting, and budget management
  • Experience with electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid (PHEV, HEV) technologies a strong plus
Skills And Attributes
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture
  • Accomplished multi-tasker with proven track record of managing simultaneous projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to facilitate and take effective notes during meetings
  • Experienced in setting up project schedules and resource allocation structures
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; ability to remain flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity
  • Detailed knowledge of product development processes as well as a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. Atlassian JIRA and Confluence skills strongly preferred
  • Excellent MS office skills including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent MS Project or similar Gannt charting software skills
  • Passion for EV technology a must, motorcycle or powersports enthusiast a strong plus
Physical And Sensory Requirements
  • Candidate must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time to perform duties, and to move
around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed
  • Must be able to bend or stoop down to access files, including lifting of items or objects up to
30 lbs
