POSITION PURPOSE/MISSIONMain duties of the Material Handler are to move finished materials in a safe and efficient manner to the proper locations in the warehouse, and transfer steel coils between various departments in the Processing plant utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes.
This is a day shift position working 12 hours per day, following a 5/2/2/5 work schedule.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant sitting
- Frequent foot use
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching over 15” away from the body, use of fine motor skills, and lifting up to 10 lbs
- Minimal below waist level work, climbing, balancing, push/pull, carrying, reaching above shoulder, and forceful motion
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible)
- Experience in forklift operation
- Ability to use a scanner
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Basic communication skills
- Ability to work well with other employees
- Ability to follow and give instructions
- Basic problem solving skills
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- Prior manufacturing experience
- Safety awareness training
- Move coils from staging areas and place in storage
- Move coils to draw lines and furnace areas
- Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the supervisor
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements
- Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description
