The Plant Controller is responsible for the preparation and implementation of financial guidelines for the plant.

Seeking to fill a Controller position at our Sarepta, LA (Springhill) plant. The primary responsibility will be to establish individual employee goals, department objectives, key operating procedures, and long or short-term financial forecasts. The Controller will also approve all plant expenses and appropriations requests. Must have strong Cost Accounting experience.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Establish short-term and long-term forecasts.
• Prepare and review weekly and monthly financial results.
• Manage fixed assets.
• Monitor and assist with productive and non-productive inventories.
• Monitor capital and capital projects.
• Direct/support departments with goals, objectives, development requirements and annual reviews.
• Approve plant expenses and appropriations requests.
• Establish and maintain key operating procedures and all required journal entries and accruals.
• Complete month-end and year-end closings of the financial records
• Maintain and administer all governmental tax credits such as Renewal Community and Enterprise zone and all governmental grants.
• Maintain relationships with outside auditors, vendors, financial institutions, and taxing authorities.
• Develop and recommend operating policy and procedures pertaining to accounting activities and instruct other management of their application and interpretation.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial, or business administration.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• High degree of understanding and cooperation with others.
• Accounting experience within the automotive or manufacturing industry, preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
